2013 Summer Enrichment Funding
Request for Proposals
The purpose of the 2013 Citizens Bank Summer Enrichment Series is to promote employment and life-long jobs skills, safety, and positive development for our youth and communities this summer. Operating between Friday, July 5, 2013 through Sunday, September 1, 2013, the Series includes:
· 34-45 summer jobs youth ages 14-17 and young adults 18-24, with a preference for high-risk or court-involved youth. To help young men and women with limited job opportunities to re-enter the mainstream and build a positive life for themselves and their families, these jobs will help youth -especially those facing risk factors- earn money and learn valuable job skills. Please see examples of the definition of risk factors on page 4.
· 4-7 Teen cafes in neighborhoods affected by youth violence, operating one weekend night weekly for 8 weeks. Teen Cafés grants provide money to create youth-focused cafés that provide youth with food and a forum for creative expression and/or dialogue to promote peace in their communities. TeenCafé funds must be used to provide stipends to at least two youths to run (plan, help implement, market, etc.) the Teen Cafés.
